Meet Our New Grassroots Manager

I’m excited to introduce a new member of our team—Ely Osborne, manager of grassroots! As our grassroots initiatives such as Protect Every Kid and Speak Up! Virginia teams continue to grow, it became imperative that we hire a new teammate to continue scaling up these efforts up across the state. Ely will work closely with Candi Cushman, our Vice President of Grassroots and Communications Strategies, to help people in communities across Virginia engage on life, family and freedom.

Ely comes to us from West Virginia and has tremendous experience with grassroots engagement and policy, including working on the legislative team of Senator Josh Hawley; serving as the legislative liaison for his alma mater, Fairmont University in West Virginia; and in a variety of grassroots capacities ranging from managing political campaigns to ministry. Ely has served in local youth ministry, college ministry, and completed multiple mission trips. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in Political Science and National Security & Intelligence—which gives him a unique blend of analytical thinking and people skills for building up the grassroots movement!

Ely says “I’m a traditional guy. (So much so, that I eat my grandma’s taco salad every year on my birthday.) My heart is with people and the spirit of this country. I care deeply about the trajectory of the country and that’s why I’m excited about this role—I am helping to build something proactive for parents and families.”

In his free time, Ely enjoys watching his favorite sports teams, which includes the Cleveland Browns, the Dallas Mavericks, and the West Virginia University Mountaineers. He also enjoys traveling with his wife, who teaches Earth Science at a Christian school in the Richmond area, and making memories!
